Today while planting wheat for food plots I found a practice scrap under a small apple tree that is loaded with apples. The buck had torn the limbs up in the tree and scraped out a place about 2 1/2 foot round. h.h.

I see those territorial scrapes show up every year about this time, right after the bucks lose velvet. Just another sign its gettin close !

Ya there everywhere along field edges, with overgrow branches hanging in the fields, They our neat to see but i would'nt waste to much time with them, but you never know being in the right place at the right time anything can happen.

I found 1 at some private land I hunt so I put out another 1 just up the woodline from it and put a bottle of Wildlife Research Hot Musk in it,,that buck TORE IT UP ! ! Have never seen that much aggression on a scrape not even during the rut. Am going to get a scent dripper and put it over the scrape this weekend, I left it alone for over a week now to make him think he scared it off,,now his rival is going to return

While doing my final scouting trip and stand check, I found a rub and what looked to be a scrape close by. I thought it was too early for the scrape. Guess I was wrong.
