Thats a broken tine.....more times than not they start shedding on the tips of their points and main beams.

I look at it again and the tine makes more sense because that's a pretty big clump.

Looks like a broken tine to me too but also looks like it might still be attached. Might be able to call that a drop tine... LOL.... At least that's what I would call it if I shot it... One of my dreams is to take a drop tine buck...
