My daughter wants to try her hand at turkeys with her bow so we're going to tag team the property this fall. I get all the deer shots and she gets the turkeys. She is shooting a 290gr arrow at 214fps. What broadhead do you think I should use on her arrows? Steel Force Talons Maybe?

Don't have a recommendation on broadheads, but I'd consider an adder of some sort behind the head. I don't know what they are called for sure, but there's a spring-type device that is sold at the bow shop I go to that slips around the arrow shaft and will slide up the shaft to keep the arrow from completely passing through. From what I've heard, they work very well for turkeys.

Ya, I agree with Danf. The arrow staying in the bird may pin down a wing, or at the least all of the wiggling the arrow will be doing whether the bird is running or flying will just be causing more damage with the broadhead still inside.

I'll have to look for those, thanks for the suggestion. Arrow staying in is a good thing - no doubt.

tinyurl.com/559mfuAdders that I was talking about at Cabelas. The spring type adder that I mentioned is similiar to what's on a judo point, but it's meant to go around the arrow shaft.
