Made a post up in the "Campfire" but thought I'd ask down here since it's the more proper place. Gonna be on the east fork of the White River between Colubus and Willliams Dam canoeing with my Scout Venturing Crew next week (6/2 thru 6/7 or so). Got to wondering if "jugfishing" would be something to try while we are floating/paddling. I've never done it before and would like to know how to set them up-line, sinker, hook, bait, etc. ....anything will help! Thanks!!

I've never done it, but here are the rules for it from the DNR.
"Float Fishing Float or jug fishing is the use of any buoyed container (made of any material other than glass) that suspends a single fishing line and a single or multi-barbed hook. As many as five floats may be used, but only one hook may be attached to each float line. Each float must be marked with the user’s name and address, and all lines must be in constant visual contact. Float fishing is not allowed on lakes and reservoirs for public safety"
Good luck!

Its a blast that's for sure. I would use something of good size for a jug. If you get a good size fish on it can be hard to chase down, since your paddling.

I managed to get one jug out the first day we were on the river but it almost immediately got swept into a downed tree and with the river being up a couple feet to start with, and being in canoes, I just didn't think it would worth trying anymore. Will have to try again sometime because I think it would be a blast in the right conditions. Thanks for all the info though!
