I was wanting to start fishing the white river for large and smallmouth bass. What I was wondering was, I have a 14' Jon boat with 9.9 hp motor and was wondering if that is enough motor for the river

That is a perfect river set up. I fish Whiteriver around Columbus all summer with a 14' and 6hp. Just wish the rain and high water would end so I can start setting trotlines.

rdj We fish the wabash and set our lines up three weeks ago. We were catching any where between 3 and six a day for the first two weeks. Some nice ones too. Always a couple 3-6 lbs and usually 2-3 over 15 lbs. We have only caught two flats and one nice 13 lbs channel. Most of the ones we catch are blues. We have been slaying them. Had to stop last week because the river is about 10' above our tie off. Oh well looking forward to this weekend when we can start again. We need it to go down another 4' and we will be good. Let me know what you are catching when you start. That's some fun running... Good luck... BB

Just finished setting line today. Will be checking them tonight and pulling them in the morning. May get wet but had to spend all day yesterday getting ready for my sons graduation next week. Today is the first opprotunity I 've had. I'll let you know how I do.

Managed to catch a few last Sat night. First run yielded six suckers and three cats. The morning we had two more suckers, three more cats and about a 25 pound carp. Cubed up the carp for mink and coon bait for this fall. Off next week so plan on setting for three or fours days. We have a family fish fry in about a month and I suuply the fish.
