I was wanting to try smallmouth fishing on the East Fork of the White River, and I was wondering if anybody had any tips or tackle ideas

Spinning reel, crank baits, spinners, live bait (fresh caught minnows are best). Hit the deep fast waters where it gets necked down and have eddy currents.

We caught several right before the rains in 2' deep riffles on 1/4 oz rattletraps!

I've caught a couple on tiny torpedoes. Love that surface strike!

I have caught them around the bridge in Shoals and above Hindaston Falls. Its some real beutiful country between Shoals and the falls, makes a nice float trip.

I've caught a couple on tiny torpedoes. Love that surface strike! Oh yea forgot that one, I used to have one they just flat hammered. It was a good mid-summer bait. It was real fun to put a full sized zara-spook on and see what would attack!
