For you guys that regularly kill birds are you killing them in the woods or fields? I am primarily a field hunter and I am beginning to think I need to start hunting the woods some.

I have shot 13 birds in Indiana, only two have been in the field. I like hunting the woods.

1 in woods last 2 in fields. Where they gobble is where I go!! Best setup in an area with active birds determines if it's fields or woods. Could be either one.

I killed one bird out of a field this season. He was actually in a woods on the other side of the field when we saw him, but two of them crossed the field to come to us. My buddy that hunts the ground pretty consistently told me on the way out there that he has never seen a bird strutting in this field.
In general, most of my birds come from the woods. When there are fields around, I have killed several birds just inside of the woods, but the birds were never in the fields.

I got mine in the woods on opening day. Been trying to get my son a shot ever since, hunting woods and fields. I`ve noticed the past few days that birds are coming back out to open fields around here.
