Any of you ever done this? I got a call last night from some company from Indy offering a free 3 day trip to Orlando if I came down and listened to their sales pitch. I normally blow these off but I told them yo call me back later.

No way, no chance this boy's interested. I'm betting it won't be all expenses paid either.

It is a time share pitch. You will be required to attend a 2 hour sales pitch to buy a week of time share or points. Some are low key and some are arm twisters to get you to buy. I own two weeks worth of points with Wyndham Vacations which used to be Fairfield Resorts. I bought mine on the secondary market through a realtor in Fairfield Glade Tennessee at less than half price of what Fairfield was selling them for. Here is some of the same stuff. I will tell you that the sessions we have went to with Wyndham have been low key pressure. Wyndham Vacations...www.ownergetaways.com/www.ownergetaways.com/offers/discovervacationlist.aspAny resort that we go to through RCI the resort will try to get us to attend one of their sales pitches. They offer anything from amusement park tickets to dinner for two to $$$ to attend. We usually say no as we have more than enough weeks/points. I usually end up giving away a few weeks to my kids or grandkids every year. IF anyone on here is looking to buy into time shares PLEASE buy on the secondary market. You can save close to half, if not better…

We are going to Branson this summer on one of these. Never been to Branson and been wanting to go for quite a while so knowing what is in store we will take the free stuff and listen to their BS for a couple of hours. It also gives us the chance to visit Eureka Springs and of course Springfield Mo. Always wanted to visit Grizzly tools there so here is my chance.

Bob, Just say - NO Take in Silver Dollar City while you are there. Branson has a Bass Pro Shop now too. Nothing like the one in Springfield though. The wildlife and Fred Bear museum in the one in Springfield is nice. Be sure to eat at Lambert's - Home of the Throwed Rolls.

BTW - My wife used to work with guy who would do his vacations this way. He would line up about 4 or 5 of these "free" offers and check in one after another. Of course he never bought a thing.

My youngets sis and her hubby have taken advantage of several of these offers. I was worried when they said they were going on the first one, as they had shown remarkably little sales resistance before that on some items, but they must have finally built up some immunity because they now use the offers regularly to make low-buck vacation trips.
Wife and I did one, but decided we'd just as soon pay for another night's lodging out of pocket as to sit through the spiel again. Just depends on how much you want the bait, and how sure you are that you can spit out the hook.

Woody you don't have to worry. I have no intentions of buying anything I have to drive that far to see. Is Lambert's in Branson or Springfield?

Raporter:
If you are into sporting clays, trap etc. There is a pretty neat place on the highway about 10 miles north of Branson: Ozark Shooter's Complex.
Lamberts is between Branson and Springfield in Ozark, Mo. just off the highway. If you take the scenic southern route to Branson via Sikeston, that is the home of the original Lamberts.

Bob, Sorry that missed your question, but Paul got it. Prepare to wait a bit in line there though. The ham steak dinner will feed a familiy of four.

We have used a different method to go on cheap vacations. There are several companies that rent out unsold timeshares and vacant weeks for pennies on the dollar. Last spring we went to Orlando and stayed at Cypress Point about a mile from the Disney main entrance. Fantastic place $250.00 for 7 full days. No pressure sales you just need to be flexible with your dates.

Got some nice places fairly cheap on a western trip a couple years ago. Mostly 2 bedroom condos split between two couples. www.vrbo.com/

Thanks for the info. I'm beginning to wonder if Missouri will still be there when we get ready to go. I keeps trying to blow away.
