Those things are a lot of fun. Were you trolling shad?

Did you guys go on your own or use a guide? I went several years ago with a service out of the Batesville area to Lake Norris in TN, but had heard he switshed to Cumberland a few years ago. Have you tried throwing red fins next to the bank at night when they are running the shad into the shallows? Nothing like a night time explosion on top watter with a tank taking your lure.
Stipers are the best tasting fish out there and loads of fun to fish. IMO
