A local store/check in station keeps good records on deer taken in southern Johnson Co. Their monthly paper had the results of this years deer harvest. Thought it might be interesting.

How could EDS have had a negative effect on this check station? 2006 total deer checked, 421, is greater then any other year prior. Buck numbers were 3rd highest and does were 1st highest.

Errr they lost checkers because their big buck contest prises were not as good as someone elses? Just kidding never heard of the place.

Yup, it's Ed's in beautiful Nineveh, IN. Just down the road from the big town of Trafalgar. If you look on a state map you will find it on the north-west corner of Camp Atterbury. I would guess most of these deer come from northern Brown & southern Johnson counties. Some of these come from my hay field !

Just got off the phone with the manager of the Rural King store in Kendallville, he said they checked in over 500 deer for the season......wow. Solohunter
