I bet the landowners and whoever hunted the properties these were found are just sick .........
A guy could hunt his whole life and not see a deer as big as those .....

nothing "sad" about it. it's just nature! If you don't see anything sad about this. EHD must not have hit your hunting area hard YET.

nothing "sad" about it. it's just nature! \ I do not agree with that statement. Deer hunting is my passion in life and when things like EHD hit your hunting area and the big bucks you have been watching all summer are laying around in August rotting "That is sad" I never had the opportunity to even hunt these deer.

I'd be sad as well if you watch a batchelor group all summer and find them routing in a ditch somewhere. I'd still be thinking about it! Best of luck to those of you who felt the EHD impact last year. 2008 is another year!

That is sad. As much time as I spend in the summer watching the deer I will be hunting whether it be through trail cameras or my video camera that would just make me totally sick to find them. Sorry for the losses folks

I think it's sad anytime something dies a slow suffering death, rabbit, doe or buck!

Amazing how it seems to take down some of the strongest bucks around. It is sad.

I guess you could say it's the sad part of nature. It would have been sadder had those deer been taken by poachers.
You just showed bucks, how many antlerless did you guys find?
I have a little spot to hunt on in Lawrence County, the very first year we hunted that land (15 years ago) it was hit by EHD, we found 6 dead deer on 100 acre, all of them by the creek that runs through it, two were nice bucks. We still killed plenty of deer that year and we still do today!

EHD went through my hunting area 2 years ago. It is just a part of the harsh reality of nature. nothing "sad" about it. it's just nature! If you don't see anything sad about this. EHD must not have hit your hunting area hard YET.
