I was talking to a good friend yesterday and he spoke with a guy who works for the DNR Forestry division. Rumor has it Muscatatuck Refuge has over 100 confirmed dead. I'm trying to confirm this. I'll post back up when I can confirm.

I saw Donna from the Refuge last Sunday getting coffee. I just got to talk to her for a second and she did say they have been finding a lot of dead one. We all know if there are 100 confirmed there are probably that many more that have not been found. Like in some of the closed areas that are all swamp. I can think of the area past Myers cabin for one. It is all swamp and water fowl area.

I was driving to Seymour on Hwy. 31 and near the river you can see a dead deer laying on the bank. It's going to be a hard year on the deer population for sure.

Just called the Rufuge office and talked to a gentleman and he said they only have about 37 reports in the refuge. Some confirmed some not. So I guess the over 100 confirmed is NOT TRUE according to Stan at the Muscatatuck Office
