Hey Madison County boys, this is in our neck of the woods! This gal only lives a few miles from me, and I can see why she's not happy. I wouldn't call this guy a sportsman or hunter in any sense of the word. He is a good-for nothin' worthless poacher. It doesn't sound like they found the deer either, and too bad she couldn't get the guys plate number because he's probably a local. It doesn't say, but I hope she called the CO. www.theheraldbulletin.com/siteSearch/apstorysection/local_story_357231849.html

Lazy , low down, good for nothing poacher.....that's all there is to it!...Too bad he wasn't caught and lost his vehicle, his gun, locked up in jail, and made to pay for that deer he wounded, and probably died...What a waste!

That's quite a bit north from me. I hadn't heard of this until I read your post. What a shame. Money corrupts, and with the big bucks being offered for big bucks, I'm afraid this kind of thing will be happening more and more often in the future. The article states that a blood trail was followed, but no mention of the deer being found. Let us know if you hear anything further about this.

Kennie, it was a little southwest of Frankton on Pipe Creek along 700N between 600W and 700W. After reading over the article a few times, the only thing I wish she wouldn't of done was put the word out that there was a big buck on or around her property. Word travels fast in the deer hunting community, and up here I know of several renegades who would still try for that buck legal or not. I knew that there was a big one near me on 500N, but I didn't say anything, and a friend saw him last day of muzze on his place. At least I know that he at made it through the season. We don't have a whole lot of ground to hunt up here or access to it, and it's stories like this that could cause even more people to take a negative view of hunting.

First i had heard of it and i live only a few miles form that area! Thats too bad all she got was the truck, But it happens all the time iam sure! That really hurts the true sportsman, I have seen several big bucks in that area and know of a couple guys that have permission too hunt that area as well, I have a buddy that his dad owne's land in that area and they have problem with tresspassers all the time, they find about 3 stands every year, he has quite a collection of some really nice stands as well, Yes scumbags even hunt out of summit's and lonewolf, ol'e man. Its just hard to belive they know there tresspassing to leave a nice stand like those.

Poaching has been going on long before any of us started hunting. Don't even try that big bucks= big bucks crap huxbux.
This has been going on since I was a kid 30 years ago and long before that!...way before anybody got paid to hunt or offered money for a big rack....That's just trying to justify a position/agenda....and I won't go there again..I don't need to say the infamous three letters do I?....

It is true that poaching is nothing new...........
Not trying to justify anything for any agenda but the lure of big racks has made the poaching problem worse that ever before.
