There are whopper (160"+) bucks taken illegally every year in some parts of the state that never get checked nor shown to the general public. This is my feeling, backed by a knowledge of the huge amount of poaching going on year-round in my area (Owen County). I wish more would be done about it! It makes me sick to hear a single high powered rifle shot in the dark from August through February. And no, these aren't dog hunters....GUARANTEED!

Hasn't monsters been killed every year from poachers?
personally not much different between a poacher and a pen hunter!

I agree to the extent that we need to enforce the laws we have on the books. It's like gun control. No, we don't need more laws, you can't legislate people into morality. We have to enforce the laws we have.. I have to say though, if half the deer on (people you know) walls you suspect were taken illegally, maybe you need some new friends??? Obviously you have some reason to believe they are taken illegally or you wouldn't say that..right?...it's not a classic case of " I'm jealous becuase I can't kill a nice buck and he did"..Like I said a couple days ago some guys just can't stand it when somone else takes a big buck. My buddy killed the third largest buck by bow in Indiana in 2004 195 2/8, and man all heck broke loose. Every rumor in the book. What I suspect from hearsay is far removed from what I can prove . I don't hunt with a certain cousin because of his "loose" interpretation of the game laws , but I couldn't prove that he actually poaches . When I've asked fellas about their mounts the old "nod and wink" comes up nearly as often as not , but since I can't prove anything I simply avoid being in the same woods with them . I would definitely report someone that was violating the law if I had proof .
