I don't think it's gonna pass this time through....and if it did..No I'll hunt with a bow and then and only then if I don't harvest what I'm looking for in archery I will get the trusty 12 ga. out of hiding. I don't know why we always try to over complicate things. Leave well enough alone...

I don't know why we always try to over complicate things. Leave well enough alone... Now that is VERY funny. I don't care who you are that is VERY funny. "Leave well enough alone..." ??Why are some drastic changes OK by you, but other changes aren't? This is minor compared to a BIG change in the recent past. No, I'm not saying that word, but you know what it is. This is a rolling on the floor laugh.

The latest update....
The State Budget Agency has just approved the proposed rule as to fiscal impact to state and local governments. The next stage for this rule is to set it for public hearing. Dates are being discussed for the public hearing.

It only makes sense. I wish more Regs did... Fiscal Impact = More Hunters/Money to the State = Positive. Easier/More Youth Hunting = Positive More Practice with accurate firearms = Positive I don't think it's gonna pass this time through....and if it did..No I'll hunt with a bow and then and only then if I don't harvest what I'm looking for in archery I will get the trusty 12 ga. out of hiding. I don't know why we always try to over complicate things. Leave well enough alone... Oh, you mean leaving it alone by asking for a shortened, out of rut gun season? LMAO I guess the only thing complicated is comprenending the Ballistic Tables that make this a No Brainer...

Even if they became legal here (Illinois) I wouldn't hunt with one. I have nothing against them and would love to see them made legal, but I just love muzzleloading too much to switch to a boring old cartridge. If this happened here I probably would get one for my 7 yr old when he got old enough to hunt and probably another for my wife for when she hunts (rarely).
I hope you guys get it legalized.

I don't know that much about the subject, I don't need to go through all the knooks and cranies on this but if some one could explain the advantages vs disadvantages for me I'll weigh in but if my gut is right on what I'm hearing on here I'd say the old lady won't let me buy a gun that has not much more advantage than the ole smoke pole (just give me the basics). Thanks

I cant see any advantage or disadvantage.
Maybe light recoil for women/children?

I cant see any advantage or disadvantage. Maybe light recoil for women/children? That's the number 1 advantage I see. it'll make it easier to get new hunter into the sport. How many potential hunters try a slug gun only to decide they don't like it and not hunt? I don't know but I'd bet it's a few.

Yep, that and the most accurate ammunition is also the most expensive ammunition.
Even at $2/5 that's twice as expensive as .357 "practice" ammo.

Funny all these guys who oppose one thing are now jumping on the band wagon with the "gun hunters"....I thought you guys( you know who you are) were making the point just recently that OBR " just transfers the harvest to " GUN HUNTERS" and now suddenly you're a gun hunter.....Now you can shoot some of those bucks you passed up in archery season, in gun season. SO you will benifit, after all, from OBR.....Flip Flop comes to mind...PBR's avatar is fitting.....LMAO...Thats funny too!

Funny all these guys who oppose one thing are now jumping on the band wagon with the "gun hunters".... Is this the pot calling the kettle black or just an attempt at misdirecting the thread? The transfer is true. The numbers do not lie, do they? No "suddenly" about it. I'd say 99% of the people that are against the OBR are two season hunters. That does mean we will pick up a firearm of some sort when that appropriate season comes in. We could do that all along since we are two season hunters. But, once upon a time we coudl hunt two bucks. Glad you enjoy it. It's called sarcasm, in case you missed it..
