If you've got a new/youth hunter to break in this coming spring and are interested in a spring turkey hunt on private property, drop me a line. Willing to let someone come in and hunt opening week or see if we can work out something for other dates. You can bring a camper/tent to set up in pasture as well. I've got room for an adult and one youth (unless you have more than one in your family).

You have made this a yearly offer haven't you? God bless you for it.... Getting our youth involved is the only way to save our sport.

Yes Woody, I have made the same offer the past 2-3 years. Much as I love to hunt myself, I can't manage to be out there 24/7! Besides, love to see the look on a young hunter first time they hear that Tom sound off or have one start walking in on them.....almost as good as listening to them retell the story when they're back at camp.
Not a big place (slightly less than 60 acres, mix of pasture (18-20 acres, rest wooded), bounded by property (100-150 acres) which is not hunted at all in the spring. Plenty of birds, not unusual to hear 5-6 different gobblers on it, or within 200 yards. Best of all, it is a short and easy walk in and out for the younger ones.
And you are right, getting them involved now is the only way to preserve the sport for the future.

Paul,
This is a very generous offer. I believe you represent the true essence of what hunting is about. I hope there are people like you around when my boy gets old enough to hunt.

Semi,
Thanks for the compliment. God willing, I hope to be here from quite a few more years! Keep me posted on when that boy of yours hits that magic age.

Brian:
I look forward to meeting the two of you. Am sure he'll have a good time.
Still waiting for the males to begin to wander a bit closer to their summer residence. Right now they're about 1/2 mile down the road in their winter pastures.
