Why is it, when a thread is locked, the entire thread is not deleted? I hate reading through 12 pages on a subject and then not being able to respond. It seems like a waist of space and time to me.

Why is it, when a thread is locked, the entire thread is not deleted? I hate reading through 12 pages on a subject and then not being able to respond. It seems like a waist of space and time to me. Because a lot of times there is a very good discussion going on with good points being introduced before a few start squaring off and exchanging foul comments, get off subject or just get into a whizzing match. Sometimes we move the whole thread to the revue board and edit, then put it back if we agree the thread serves a useful purpose, if not then it stays locked. IF members will debate according to the rules WE never lock a thread. h.h.
