How did you guys do at Versailles Monday and Tuesday? I'm thinking about offering guided hunts next year.

No, unfortunately I didn't get drawn. I almost went to see the park manager to see if they had any openings, as I had the bug real bad. My winter retreat is right off of Perry Street in town. That's the road that comes out at the covered bridge. We take my boxer pup for walks in the park, so I get to scout year round. That's how I found the spot that we hunted earlier. I plan on taking walks just for exercise and to see how many dead deer didn't get found. I found four after last year's hunt, only one was a buck, a forkhorn. I have info to share on a new hotspot that should produce. The only access is through private ground that I have permission to park the truck and walk back in to the park. It should be smokin' hot! I did take two does off of my ground and passed several small bucks in gun. I've started clearing an area for food plots during the down time this week and plan on hunting next week come rain or shine! A buddy wants to hunt Friendship during the week, so we may be doing that on Monday. I'm in trouble again with the miss' and my doc, so I have to stay low key. I busted a rib back in March, and it never has healed, and the doc said deer season has made it worse by using a climber and draggin' deer. Oh well, that's part of a sacrifice a guy has to make to hunt deer, and I wouldn't miss it for the world. The coughin' up blood thing is only a minor distraction! ;D
