I know the rut is tough to beat but I really love hunting the muzzleloader season. Something about the cold, less pressure from others. I took this 8 pointer on the 9th of December in 2001. He was chasing a doe and and ran past me 80MPH and finally stopped on top a ridge at 125 yards. The 300 grain Hornady made the rest history. Let's see some ML season bucks!

Wow that is a nice buck. And i also agree with u on the ML season bc the snow hits and the deer have to fight the cold and find food. The only sad part is most other hunters have thrown in the towel by now and it gets kind of lonely! Kjrackmaster

I love the late muzzleloader season as well, for all the reasons you mentioned, and because that is when I kill the majority of my bucks. It also helps that I killed my biggest buck during muzzleloader season.
