The stand was locked on with the bigest, baddest chain that I could buy. "Schedule 80 steel"? It also had the biggest , baddest lock that I could buy on it. It was locked under the seat where it would be difficult to get a pair of cutters to. I'm sure it took them awhile to get it off. Yes, I would like to catch them. Last year we set up two trail cameras to catch the thieves and nothing was stolen. We didn't set up the cameras this year and two stands (so far) have went bye-bye. Yes, this is private ground, which doesn't matter to thieves does it? They must have had the biggest baddest set of cutters. That really sucks Woody especially on Private ground where the thief was also trespassing Unabeleivable.

I have never had one stolen but I did find where someone had tried to saw through one of my chains with something, but they didnt get very far. To say the least I took the stand down and only hunt out there from a climber or the ground.

That could have been bad if you were perched up 25' up a tree and the chain gave away because some low life tried, but couldn't steal your stand.

Had someone take one of my ratchet straps off a stand and loosen up the top one once. Guess they were to lazy to steal the ladder stand. Sounds like an anti stole your stands Woody, one that knows to look for trail camaras.

We had a ladder stand stolen from our private property. It was only about 150 yards from the house. They must have stole it when I wasn't home. I would have heard the 4-wheeler. If I ever catch someone stealing a stand, I think I might introduce them to Mr. Remington 870!

Woody, Don't call a thief a deer hunter ....Please. Once a crime has been committed that person IMO ceases to be a "deer hunter" and is now a fugitive from justice. I'm a deer hunter, not a thief. I don't want to be put in the same catagory. thanks
