Wed before Thanksgiving, My son, his cousin and I hunted: I had my 5 yr old with me as well. After an uneventful hunt, we drove back down the lane to dump a deer carcass from earlier in the week(I take all bones back to the farm to respectfully dispose of the remains near were the deer was shot). When drivng back down the tractor path, I spotted movement in a CRP field. We traded a pair of binocs between us as we watched the bobcat move through the semi open hillside. We'd watched a flock of 12-15 pheasants land in the general area of the cat on our way to the truck, so I assume the cat was in mid stalk when we bumped it. It moved away at a brisk walk, so I watched it for quite some time at 100 yards via binoculars.

Keep those digital cameras handy for encounters like that! I'd love to have seen the pics!

Awesome sighting Scott. I haven't seen one around in a while.
Did have a mink under my stand Saturday morning. Not the coolness factor of a bob cat, but cool none the less.
