Hearing is no doubt my weakness in the woods. Does anyone use any hearing devices and how well do the work? Mine too. I have some hearing loss from childhood ear infections and shooting trap without hearing protection (not smart). For archery hunting I just wear my regular hearing aids. They help a lot. For gun hunting I wear a pair of Radian electronic muffs. They help a lot too. The problem is they are two years old and don't seem to be working very well this season. I had the left one fail to shut off while sighting in my shot gun and it really hurt my left ear. Now they are making a "clicking" noise. I went back to my E.A.R. EarScopes. They are similar to hearing aids only they shut off at 85 decibels. They do not amplify very much at all so I am doing a lot of hunting with my eyes instead of my ears. I'll be looking for some other amplifying electronic muffs before turkey season. Good luck..and protect that hearing.

My hearing is ok, but iam still young at 47, but i did get a cheap hearing device at wal-mart, that seem to amplify real well, the only thing is i would'nt want them in my ear, during shot gun, I really didnt use them all that much,i never could get use to have something in my ear,so i guess it would take some time to get use too, plus i cant stand something over my ear(like a sockcap),or a scent loc-hood.
