Went hunting last night and the evening was PERFECT!!! Hardly any wind, cool and very calm in the woods and I saw NOTHING!!!! Oh I saw my usual 15 squirrels, but no deer. I seriously think with some of the fields still having corn up the deer have moved out of my woods. When the corn was up in the field on the land I hunt, I saw deer every time. Now that the corn has been cut for about two weeks I haven't seen but three. Usually the move into the woods and eat the acorns, which the woods I hunt is loaded with them. That is why I see all the squirrels. I plan on being out a lot this Holiday weekend, but I sure don't see any rut activity. I guess the bucks are where the does are and the does are where the food is.

The only thing that I saw yesterday was a small doe. My hunting buddy shot her mother Sat. She is still hanging around looking for mom. His doe field dressed out at 130. Nice doe.

I saw a total of 8 deer on my property today. I saw five of them this morning, while at my computer, four does being followed by a six pointer. This afternoon, while working in my front yard doing some fall chores I noticed a scrape. While working the Buck showed up to inspect it, and this was around 1:30 CST. The buck didn't noticed me at all.

Yes... This ALL sounds familiar to me. I had a "Old Veteran of MANY YEARS of DEER HUNTING," as he refers to himself, tell me he has had the same situation MANY times this season.
He stated, "Since those guys got this STUPID OBR rule effective my hunting has GONE DOWN HILL every since." He insists the numbers of does in his area are being depleted because the hunters can only take ONE BUCK and they are shooting does waiting for a noce buck with antlers.
I told him the figures indicate the majority of the hunters are supporting the OBR rule and he says... "They must NOT be counting the votes from the hunters he talks too...
I told him to be ready to accept what is left over because the reports I get, the OBR will be around for a LONG TIME YET!! (Sorry folks... just an opinion that was given to me recently.) Bud

Last night i had deer everywhere around me. But this place every night, regarldess of weather always has a lot of deer, especially does . I ended up taking a decent 8 pointer at 5:30. Now i have to get rid of a few of those does.

Bluebird skies and no wind, has always for me produced very little daytime deer movement.

my wife saw a big 8-pointer with a doe cross the road in front of her this morn.on her way to work.to me ,deer have moved funny this year.of course if i could shoot straight this year i would be in pretty good shape.but one woods i hunt ,the bucks always put on a show chasing the does out of a thicket and up and down a side of a hill but not one time did i witness that this year.going out again in the morn.really hoping just to get a doe for the freezer at this point.

Saw nothing tonight in stand. Got out about 6 and spotted a deer heading towards the truck. I was in a been field against a tree line and he was heading in the same direction I was, so I followed parrellel with him. He got to a tree line, and when I got to the other side of the trees, I spotted him making a scrape. I was about 70 yrds away, and I could even here him scraping. I think they're starting to pick back up, but I know what you mean about not seeing any. I wouldn't blame the deer, not coming out till dark, after all the shooting I heard Sat morn.
