went to TX in march for a hog hunt.i drove to MO and met up with a guy who i met on another hunting forum named Joe.we continued to TX were we met Tim,who we met on the same forum and who we were hunting with for free. Joe took a sow that weighed 125 pounds and was taken with a 300 mag right between the eyes at 17 yards I took this 150 pound sow after i got the oppurtunity to go hogdoggin at night in the TX brush.I got her with a knife.Hogdoggin is an exhausting adrenaline rush

That is a lot of pork chops there.
Congratulations!
Now, I have to ask.. this "Hogdoggin" is man against hog with just a knife?
I can see why it would be "adrenaline rush"..

Hogdoggin consisted of 3 mountain cur bay dogs and 1 catch dog,a 90 pound pit bull who we were told to stay away from.the mountain curs do not bark trail they only bark bay.they barked bay about 3/4 of a mile away at 1 in the morning in the thick TX brush.we had to triple time it to get there as the circumstances are unknown.the bay dogs can get hurt/killed if the encounter a group of pigs or an aggressive boar.so we crossed 4 waist deep sloughs and it was single file all the way there as the brush was thick.pretty much ya had to lower your head like a fullback and just bust thru.at the bay site the pit is let go and is trained to grab an ear but the pit has to be released within 5 feet of the hog as it will attack the first thing in its path including the bay dogs which it is socialized with at all times when not hunting.1 guy will grab the pigs hind legs and try to twist it to the ground which aint an easy task.when it was on its side i was handed the K-BAR and it took 3 guys to pull the pit off.the second the pit was removed i had to drop my knee onto the pigs neck while slicing thru its lungs/heart.if my knee isnt in place the hog can trwist and slice ya wide open so i had to time it perfectly as not to let the pit get me and make sure my technique was good so the hog couldnt get me with the cutters or wetters.this was a sow so the cutters were small.i was told i looked like an old pro at it.then GPS coordinates were taken then back 1 1/2 miles thru the brush to the trucks.a Gator was used to circle around close to the pig to retrieve it.by the time that was done back to the house to skin the hog, drink a few celebration adult beverages and leave, stop to ice the pig down, get dinner, arrive at the motel, shower then to bed at 4 AM.i had started huntin at 4 PM the day before with my crossbow then switched to hogdoggin as night fell.so yes it was a huge adrenaline rush

Never heard of hogdoggin before, but it sounds almost the same as hog ringing, sans the dogs and killing the pig. Take the pig down, apply your weight on its neck with your knee, and hold its mouth shut while someone clamps anywhere from 1 to 6 rings in their snout. Once you get up to around 100-150 lbs of hog, you are absolutely aware of what will happen if you lose your grip. You would lose a hand! The entire time the pig is down, it is being extremely vocal about what it intends to do to you if you give it the chance, and the sound of an irate hog is something everyone should experience close up. ;D
I do NOT miss being around hogs.

Yeah well, after hogs hit 175 lbs, you can have them all. Any hog over that has nothing to worry about from ME wanting to wrestle it around, unless it is after me or someone else in the first place. For me anyway, to wrestle one that size or larger would be out of necessity, not out of boredom . . . lol ;D
