All speculation aside, how would you feel in the woods if you were stillhunting with a bow and saw this coming towards you?

I have been told a hog that size is not worth eating. Any truth to that? I mean, what a SHAME if true!

The bigger the boar the stinkier it gets. There meat taste strong unless you soak in some kind of acid based juice like orange, lime or lemon. In S. Florida they use sour oranges but most of the boars are 200 lbs or less. The best thing for this one would be six foot under.
At my friends lease in Florida they take the big boars down the road a couple miles to a big cat refuge that take in lions, tigers and leopards from people that buy them as pets and zoos that don't want them any more. They have to cut off the heads and gut the hogs. My friend says its quite a site to watch one of the big lions tear one of the hogs up. He says they get very aggressive when the owner gives them a hog and when they roar it makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck. h.h.

From what I understand, what the pig tastes like depends on several things. The density of the population is the biggest issue, because if they are fairly dense they are competing for food a LOT, and are eating pretty crappy. The crappier the food, the crappier the meat.
Now, if its a low density population and good food sources, then the 200+ pounders will taste OK from what I understand. The guy that had us down to SC last month was saying that he's only had one hog that tasted the least bit funny, and that was in the hams and it was a good sized (~300 pounds I think) hog. From what I remember him saying it was still very edible, but it had a bit of a different taste to it. Dad's hog was probably 180-190+ pounds and from the little I've had (and what he's said) it tastes fine. Carl (our host) said that size of hog in the southern part of the state (SC) you might as well leave it lay if you shoot it because it will taste like crap.
It all depends on what they've been eating.
Also, I'm no hog expert, but chances are if this new "hogzilla" is actually as big as they say it is, it's been "cut", so to speak (probably got loose from a farm at some point), so that should help the taste a lot too.
