Had a chance to take Danf, my neighbor and myself to SC over the weekend to go on a feral hog hunt on some hunt club property. My lives in Columbia, SC so she drove up and hunted Sat with us. Unfortunately Danf or my neighbor never saw any hogs but my daughter and I managed to connect on a couple. Got a little wet Sunday but we all had good time. It was the first time any of us had ever hunted hogs so it was a real learning experience. My daughter was using my Ruger 270(that she hadn't shot in a couple of years)for about a perfect behind the ear 50 yard shot and I was using a Mauser 7X57 for probably a forty yard shot. We didn't have a scale with us but hers probably went about 50# and mine was closer to 200#. Hope we get a chance to do this again!

I have killed a couple down there before in the low country. In Barwell and Alendale County. I love it down there.

Be careful, hog hunting is addictive!
the one your daughter shot is the best eating size. in Florida they call them grillers, cause they just fit on the BBQ. h.h.

That's what the plan is for Darcy's. It came home whole. I didn't see or hear the first hog or deer, but I swear I think I saw every other living thing down there other than bobcats. Saw a really cool looking red fox that was lucky he was in some brush on Saturday night; otherwise the taxidermist would have needed to work around a Thunderhead hole! ;D The nieghboring farm to the property we were hunting on had gotten professional help in reducing the hog numbers down there. Had that not happened, we might have come home with more pork than what we did. Since Dad has figured out how to post pics, I won't bother, since I don't really have any others than what he posted.

Actually they are Karl's pics that he went ahead , resized and put into photobucket for me all I had to do was cut and paste which I think he understands is about the extent of my computer abilities especially after he and Mom traded a couple of emails ;D.

Hmm, I (or you) need to post the pics of the truck that I took when we stopped for gas! The pics should be on your camera, I didn't take any with mine...
Dad's '05 Dodge Quad Cab was loaded down with VERY LITTLE room to spare. He's got a rack for the hitch and it was completely full- my archery target was strapped down and slightly higher than the top of the camper shell! Things were packed a little better on the way back- my target got to ride inside. ;D
I am, however, NOT going to mention the description on the reciept for the knife I bought at Smoky Mountain Knife Works on the way back, this being a family friendly forum and all..... ;D ;D ;D

It's actually nothing special. It's a boning knife. 6" blade. According to the reciept, it's also "semi-rigid". You put it together in the worst possible way (and change 'boning' to another term that is VERY similiar), and that was the description. ;D

The handle is also blue and their receipt description didn't call it a boning knife either but instead put an"er" on it instead. I'll let you all put the rest of it together but the length, color and shape were all listed.....

The color wasn't mentioned. It did say "semi-rigid" in the description though.
So how about the pics of the truck???
