Scott,,,Just got back from Loshboughs and had a blast. I hooked up with this fine Russian using my White Super 91 .451 muzzleloader. He's going on the wall, no matter what my wife says.. ;D It might be the garage wall though... ;D How did your group do?

Nice hog, what did it weigh? I'm going back to Florida the first of May to bow hunt hogs. Hog hunting is additive! h.h.

We had a BLAST! Our group although small we all got our porkers Saturday morning by still hunting - NO DOGS!!!!! Daniel said that we were the 2nd group to do so ever, and by far the largest.
We also were chased around the back field by a couple of hogs for 20 minutes or so. We all had ours down on the ground, so we really didn't want to shoot another one (or 2). It was pretty comical, grown men with guns running from some hogs. ;D
Steve, Taylor and I went back on Sunday to look for a real monster - Taylor found some prints that were a good 5" across the day before by the stream. We snuck up on a large group of 20, and there were a few there that would have gone around 500#, but they were a good 200 Yds away and winded us. They were GONE in a flash. I think they've played that game before. Daniel said that there are 2 groups like that, if they hear voices, vehicles or dogs, they just disappear. All of ours were between 200# and 250#. It hit 91* on Sunday!
Taylor's brother took video of Taylor shooting his hog with the bow, and of him and I getting chased by that same hog and it's companion. Even a .480 in the dirt in front of the hogs didn't phase them a bit.
Another 2 weeks later and all the leaves would be out and visibility would go down to durn near nothing. I'm pretty sure that I'll be back next year, I'm sure that Steve, Taylor, Ryan and a few of their friends will go also. If I go, I'll stillhunt hard for 2 days looking for a monster. They are there, you gotta hunt them just like a whitetail, scent and noise are what they key on. After watching that group, I know that they couldn't see us even tho we could see them. But, all it took was a slight switch in the wind and about 30 seconds later they all froze, then immediately started trotting away. They were roughly 200 Yds away too!!
This was the driest that I've seen the place.

blue dot,
those are bigger pigs than then ones in Florida. An average Florida hog which is ferel is around 130 - 150 lbs. The biggest one Ive seen killed was 299 bar hog. i did shoot a 198 lb. sow last year.
I'm going back to Florida May 2 - 8 to bow hunt some more. I just wish it was a little closer because id be hunting them porkers a lot. h.h.
