What are your hunting plans for 2007?
I'm starting to think about hunting options for 2007. I know I will apply for Kentucky and Pennsylvania elk tags yet again. I will also probably apply for several of the Texas Public Land drawings, the Big Time Hunts drawing, the Arizona Big Game Raffle, and a couple of others. Beyond that I'm not sure.

Other then Indiana hunting I might make down to Kentucky for a Kentucky buck. I have some family down there with about 1000 acres.

Africa 07 for plains game and leopard with a bow in Namibia! I'm booked, have my airline tickets and shots up to date, and I can't wait! ;D I've been studying shot placement for plains game, as it is different than elk or whitetails. A well placed shot right behind the shoulder on them means a gut shot, as their heart/lung area is farther forward in the body.

Turkey and deer here in Indiana, Dad and I are trying to get out-of-state to do some hog hunting. If we go, it'll probably be in S.C. One of these days I want to hit KY for turkey. I'll have to evaluate whether I could afford to draw a KY elk tag or not.

Thanks Woody! I bought a book on shot placement for African game, and I have a couple of videos of actual hunts that took place where I am going. It's going to be hard for me to put one through the shoulder to hit the vitals after years of practicing that shot behind the shoulder.

I have family with private land in WI and KY and I would like to sneak out to one of them next year to use a rifle on deer. Besides that I have a lot of serious uncertanties right now in my life, so we'll see I guess.

That's it Woody! I about died when I saw the price for the hardback, $65.00, and I couldn't find a used one on e-bay or ammazon.com. I ended up finding a small softcover pocket addition for around $20.00.

We were going to go on an elk hunt in 07, but that's not going to happen. We're planning to go to Oklahoma on a boar/turkey hunt this spring. I'll also probably turkey hunt in Michigan as well.
