Well, I had been using my old digital camera as my better/newer one wasn't in my possesion. I got it back along with the memory card that holds all of the pics from my adventure to Newfoundland! Here is the stories:
RAIN, RAIN, RAIN. First day the guide called up a bull moose and since I was hunting (3) animals I figured I didn't have time to wait for a HUGE moose. So I layed the hammer down, and that is how I got the moose in the attached pictures. It has velvet hanging off of it.
Caribou hunting for WOODLAND CARIBOU, the species with smaller racks and larger bodies are in the mountains and are hard to hunt with fog/rain and low clouds. I ended up passing up a few smaller bulls the first 3 days a I caribou hunted, then we spotted a large herd with at least 20-30 animals in it, and we knew there had to be a large STAG in it. This is on Friday. Then we sat into stalk and it took 2 hours to do it, and then I ended up laying in the bog and getting wet while I finally got a shot at the stag. He is a nice one and should might make B&C?
I had bear hunted 2 nights and hadn't seen a bear, my dad saw a 400-500 lb bear at the dump (you can't hunt there). Finally, on Friday night a bear showed his face and I layed the hammer down. Not a BIG bear but a good 150 lb., bear.
It was a great trip, and NO one ended up killing any moose of any size.
Summary:
9 hunters
5 moose
1 miss (bowhunter)
3 caribou
2 bears
4-guys got nothing (2 bowhunters, 1 missed and the other passed up a 100 lb bear and didn't have another shot at anything). Another guy just couldn't hardly get around too good and got opportuntiy, and the last guy passed several moose looking for a BIG one.
2 SLAMS!!
Norm's was done with a TC - Encore .50 muzzleloader
Mine was done with a Remington .300 WinMag
