Ummmmmm............. I'm not at liberty (yet) to disclose everything I've been told to this point, but I will repeat a few things. I have contacted just about every office at the state level I could come up with, and more that were suggested to me. District biologist office, district CO office, HNF office in Bloomington (or was it Bedford), F&W office in Mitchell... No one knows of any hogs in HNF. I talked to a woman at the HNF office before I talked to the supervisor, and she said she had heard her grandsons talking about hogs near Ft. Ritner and I think Sparksville. Mainly east of Tunnelton, I would assume on the White River. I'm still waiting to hear back from someone else on this matter, and I'd like to to some scouting before I say much more. Dan

not to butt in but I have researched this as much as anyone in southern indiana and have come up with nothing but stories and rumors. I posted many times on another website HuntingNet.com and got alot of people saying there were no hog's there. My wifes grandma lives basically in the HNF and she said she has rumors for years about hogs but never had seen any. The story I keep getting is some guys brought in some wild boars and tried to start a private club but never stuck with it and let the hog's run free some of the hog's breed with domestic pigs and for a while there were some feral pigs and a few wild boars running around that area in the late 90's and early 2000. but to everyones knowledge all of these pigs were wiped out .....there again this is also a story....if anyone finds out soem real facts.. i'm talking sightings, pics, dead pig,etc then let me no please

We definitely had some in northern Warrick county.
Where they came from is anyone's guess and a matter of speculation.
The people that hunt in behind me trapped and killed off a BUNCH of hogs
I haven't seen any for a while, but I doubt that they are all gone.

The Shoals News had photos of two hogs, definitely feral but not Russian, that were killed in two different areas of the White River 2-3 years ago.

This reads like an X-Files episode. The truth is out there.

Thanks for all the input. I talked to a grand pappy guy Saturday night in a bar in Medora. I guess I trust him. I will be taking a hunt trip down there in Sparkville area along the River beds soon.
