Is Elk any better than whitetail? I was given a couple of bull elk this weekend that I took to the processor but was just curious as to how good it really was?

Yeah, elk is great-better than whitetail, IMO. Maybe the only game better is bison. Elk is good stuff. Elk burgers are top notch, as are steaks, and the jerky is unbelievable.

Best wild game there is. You cannot go wronge with a elk steak and gravey.

Well I'll just wait, tomorrow my processor will have my first one done and I'm planning on putting some steaks on the grill. I'm pumped now!

No. It's terrible meat. Not fit for a dog. Shoot me your address and I'll come and haul it off for you. No charge.

A friend gave us some Elk Loin Steaks; which I broiled on the grill. I really couldn't tell the difference, in flavor, between Elk or White-tail venison. Both are Good! ;D

I have to admit I was skeptical but after having eaten many many pounds of it now I would say with swollen chest, I'll fight all of you just to keep it! I'll bet it's all I ate for a week straight.
