Saw Three different bucks out looking for does yesterday morning. This Morning was crazy, watched a nice buck chasing a doe hard, he was cutting her off like a cuuting horse does. I watched this for 20 minutes. Had another buck follow a doe who came up off the creek and he check a scrape and i grunted him over to within 15 yards, but not the one i am looking for. Tonite I had a decent 7 pointer grunting a pushing a doe all over a cut bean field. I have seen 7 diffrent bucks over this weekend alone and had 5 within 20 yards but i am still waiting on the big one i missed two weeks ago to give me one more chance. I could have shot the doe this evening that the 7 pointer was pushing but i thought i would just stay quiet and watch the show. I am off all week, this so cool! Good luck to everyone! Goodyz71

All I saw was one buck this morning at ~8:45. He was *maybe* within range, but wasn't a shooter for me anyway. As far as deer sightings, today was probably my worst day in a loooong time at my family ground in Tippecanoe County. Just the one buck and possibly a doe when I got to my stand. I did get to tell some kids on a quad to "Get the h*ll out of here" this afternoon though.

Forgot to mention that I'm pretty sure the one buck I did see was checking (and freshening) scrapes along the creek, so it's getting closer.

I'm assuming your referring to the rut? From what you said it hasn't. They are just checking and getting does when they can they aren't in the FULL swing yet, if they were that supposed BIG buck wouldn't be feeding in the backyard he'd be trying to get some.

no he did chase them around a little and the full rut hasnt started yet but the big boys are showing themselves more and yes checking for does so pre-rut has started

I went out Sunday morning , at first all I saw was a fat racoon waddling through my sinkhole followed by some gobblers with rather impressive beards later . Then around 8:00 am I managed to grunt in a pair of younger bucks , I had my Delta buck target and a Montana doe decoy out there , and they checked them out real hard before getting downwind of my blind and taking off back toward where they came from . I went back in for a few hours since it was raining , but went back out about 3-4:00 pm , and right around 5:00 a doe crept through the sinkhole with what looked like one of the earlier bucks on her trail . I didn't get a shot opportunity at any of the deer that day , but it was still a pretty good time . We've had to dodge both does and bucks crossing the road early in the morning and late evenings lately , I'd say it's nearly here too .
