Alarm was going off at 2:45 this morning... Time to get up and out the door. Picked up my bud Dan,, we loaded the boat and headed off down the toll road going east... Headin for the all mighty Maumee!!! Gotta give a shout out to the eye master himself,, Mr. Maumeebubba!!!! Thanks for turning me on to this spot!!!! Took the Maumme exit off the toll road just as light was starting to crack. Stopped and topped off the gas tank in the boat and headed for the ramp.. DANG!! The line was a mile long for boat checks. I'll bet we lost atleast 45 mins fishing waiting our turn in line.. While waiting we started packing the boat and I realized I had left my Carhart bibs at home and all I had on was jeans:mad: BUMMER,, thank goodness it warmed quick this morning... Here is a couple views of the river,, my camera sucks,, but the banks were lined with waders... River was up and MOVING FAST!!!!!!! Was tough fishing for us,, lots of boats around,, and it looked like most everyone was getting something.. Guys in front of us boated a fish atleast 8-9lbs. Here was a 24" fish,, he was the biggest of the day,, but he was tossed back... 5lbs 8 oz And here is Dan with his best, a nice 20",, and another nice male. Check out the THING growing on this fish back All In All,, we spent about $130 in gas and tolls,, but we had a good time...

Nice eyes....do you ever fish out on the bay. A buddy of mine always fishes the reefs just outside of the bay. I was told only about 20% of the fish run up the rivers. He uses purple hair jigs tipped with shiners. He really nails them and not as crowded.

I read that it was 10% of the population come up the rivers,, can you imagine that many more on the reefs.. WOW!! I need some inside info on that action... Does it take a BIG boat to get to them??
