First Annual Hunting-Indiana.com Fishing “Contest”
OK…. This will be a “contest” that isn’t a “contest”.
Strictly pictures – no scoring on how many or the biggest or the most limits or none of that mathematical whiz stuff.
The categories:
1) Best picture of the fishing area
2) Best picture of the fish taken
Three places in each category.
There will be prizes awarded... (I’m soliciting prizes now, so IF anyone wants to contribute, please PM me.)
Rules?
1) Fresh water only 2) They have to be this years pictures..
Cut off date will be September 1, 2008
Enter as often as you want.
No sign up necessary
Pictures of whomever you fish with – Hunting Indiana members or not.
Post all pictures in this thread. You can post them elsewhere too, but to be in the contest they must be here too..
Pictures will be judged by an impartial panel of judges who will be decided later.
Good luck and have fun.
Looking forward to the banter and pictures..

Cut off is Sept 1st? Salmon dont even get here till Oct Is that too early for most folks? I don't fish so help me out here. The cut off doesn't matter to me. That was an arbitrary date.

What about a "calendar year" date range, like September 2, 2007 through September 1, 2008? I think I understand the September time-frame, much later than that and many of us will be starting to deer hunt and you will be busy keeping track of who killed what in the deer contest. By ending in September you will have some time to get judging done before all that kicks in hot and heavy. Surely Pigeon took some pictures of last fall's salmon run? Also, get too much later in the year and waterfowl season will be picking up too. I'll be fishing on occasion until and possibly through October, but not much after that, and 99% of the time it's my home pond anyway...

Yeah that might be a little early...Nov 30th would probably make more people happy. Been a while since we've done a fall run on Lake Michigan but it can be later than you think with some fishing even being done in some of the warm water discharges until the ice locks everything in. Why just freshwater? Some of my biggest fish so far have come from fishing out of a canoe on the Inner Coastal Waterway ;D

Since a shark is technically a fish.... What are you worried about? You'd have to figure out how to post pics anyway!

Danf and dadfsr are on the right track. The contest should be open until dec 1st 2008. They will probably win it since they plan on fishing with me.( just kidding). Don't take offense Pigeon. Everyone knows you have the better shallow water boat. It's almost catfish time on OUR favorite body of water. Kevin

I know exactly the spot you're talking about. It's as good as it gets! We need to make sure people don't follow us.

I havent fished there for cats in 2 years,, last time we did,, I saw Parker anchored under the lights on the way back to Maggies at about 5 in the AM. There was 2 boats together. I have never tried that spot,, but that flat looks good on the radar?

It only takes nine inches to float her. The problem is in Skinny water like that I'm limited to idle speed. You've seen the go-mercury pics!!!
