I tie flies for Smallie too and catch a lot here in the Kokomo Wildcat. I canoe alot and we have Smallie trips now and then, we have alot but no size yet (the water quality is getting better). The craw flies do the best with clousers next.

I fish the Wildcat too, but by Lafayette. Lots of smallies in there. I want to fish Sugar creek more but I need to find a good spot near me where the land owner is not a nut job.

where the land owner is not a nut job. You mean you *don't* like guys with guns threatening you??? You really aren't too far from the Walnut, you can hit the northern forks just outside of North Salem.

A 2 weight?! I caught a few smallies on my 3 weight and found it just not enough. I did hook into a big 18" or so w/it one time while fishing for sunnies. Kept him on for 5 or 6 jumps but I couldn't do anything w/him. I haven't tied any Grey or royal wulffs in years. I seem to do better w/bigger flies. Grey Wullf and 2 weight for gills, not smallies. I use a heavier rig for bass.

I don't flyfish but I do make my own jigs. We have great smallmouth water up here. Salamonie, Mississenawa and Eel rivers. All great wading rivers. Just don't tell anyone OK.

They just moved again to Downtown Zionsville. I think he means the Wildcat Creek Flyshop. Chad will be open in his new store 3-17. It's only 2 blocks away from where he is now. He gave me a tour of the new store and I think it's going to be a good fit for him. It's just a short walk to Eagle Creek so you can buy a new flyrod, walk out the back door and catch fish. Chad has a good thing going here so if you have interest in flyfishing, you should stop in.
