Woody is old enough to remember when these were state of the art when it comes to range finders! A 80/2 Pro Rangerfinder compliments of Ranging INC. Sure glad I didn't buy their stock in the dot com era! I was digging through one of many hunting stuff boxes trying to get ready to head south for the weekend when it fell out on my foot. I guess it would still work, but it was too dark to play with it. It's a whole lot easier to push a button and zip, a reading bounces back instantly. I bought it to hunt elk the first year at Hot Tea where everyone hunted off of the ground in early archery and shots over 50 yards were common, and it was still affordable to go west every year. Woody do you remember Norm? He always scored on an elk. I bet there are a bunch of guys here that can't remember when we didn't have range finders or put up a stand and walked the distance off to measure yardage for shooting lanes without any help from electric gizmo's. Good luck all, don't forget to put fresh batteries in your Yardage Pros! I'm headed out for a week of nothin' but fresh air and tree sittin' from daylight til dark! hopefully the big boys will get the itch as the temps keep droppin'.

Yep.. had one of them. You had to line up the two images to get a halfway accurate reading.
I saw Norm Conners about three or four months ago.
He still goes out every year and more times than naught takes a good bull. He quite an elk hunter and a very good bow shot.
The first year I went to the Hot it was $75 for the week - room and board. Non-resident elk and deer tags were $25 a piece.
The next year Wayne upped the price to $125. Tags were still $25.
The staff of Bowhunter magazine went the next year and did an article on the Hot T and the prices went up and up and up...
Good memories from out there...

I had the 0-75 model. 3 or 4 years ago, I was searching for a manual for it, so I traked down the company that bought the Ranging name. They told me they were looking to complete a collection of every model that had been made. They told me that they did not have that model and offered to buy it back from me. They paid me enough for it that it almost completely paid for a Bushnell laser range finder.

I have 3.
Two Ranging 400s and a Ranging 1000.
Someday, when batteries for the Bushnell are scarce, I'll be glad I kept them.
