Took a break today from chasing turkeys while on vacation this week and took the wife to Monroe crappie fishing. Had a good day catching 75 to 80 crappies. Only a dozen or so over 10". Kept them for the frying pan. I've fished Monroe for the past twenty years and the last 5 to 6 years it's been the same story. We can catch lots of fish only no size. Going back tomorrow night to fish after dark with a light. Are some of you seeing the same thing.

When we are fishing someplace else and we catch a small one we call em "Monroe Gills" or "Monroe Crappie".....lol I don't have a clue why the fish are so small down there!

LOL, I'll have to remember that. Got my bird this morning so we are heading to Patoka tommorrow and Friday. Don't catch as many it seems there but there sure is a big difference in size between both lakes.
