This deer was shot in Ontario buy the same guy I posted here last week. He was on a property with a friend. He never hunted this area before his buddy put him on a stand saying I've seen a few does here. 6:30 in the evening this guy walks out double lung straight thru heart 150 yards to this. We don't score our deer just wondering what you guys think. As you can tell typical 8 point. Went over 300 pounds on the hoof. Wish I could say it was mine.

WOW!!!!! What a PIG! Those tines are huge and great mass too! Ummm... I stink at scores..... but if Bob Barker were asking for my bid I'd have to say: 175-180

Very good buck..... Especially for a "doe stand". Nice, even and good mass rack. Pushing 150 if not over it. Score is really immaterial as he is what we cal a "good one".

150? That's it??? Look at those daggers and spread...... I know what my buck grossed and that buck is WAY more than 27 inches bigger than what I killed.

bsutravis, A 150 eight pointer is an exceptional deer. Not too many make the 150 mark. This is an eight that Woodmaster killed a few years back and he grossed out at 158. .

yep ... 150" is a lot of bone for 8 points.
6" G1's 12" G2's 10" G3's 22" beams average 4.5" C measurements 18" spread
You come up with 154" .... and I dont think this buck will even be that big. But ... a huge, huge 8 pointer.
A 180 class 8 was found dead in knox county about 5 years ago. That was without a doubt the most impressive rack I have ever laid eyes on. The rack weighed like 22lbs.

I think really big 8 pointers are among the most impressive racks there are, regardless of score.

Just a little update. The guy he was hunting with is an official scorer for our provinces records FROW and knows an editor at Ontario monster bucks. He is going to score the deer and have story in mag. The deer is a typical with slight fork on 1 brow tine and small growth on one of the beams. Here is another picture.

What scoring system does FROW use?

What scoring system does FROW use? F - Front R - Rear O - Outside W - Width Unique system. Sorry, it is Friday, it's pouring down rain, I'm not out hunting, and I feel like being a smart azz. ;D

SSSH! There's no such thing as a trophy eight point! I always see the video hunters "manage" the herd by shooting the 250 lb eight so that the long tined, 150 lb ten pointer he just pushed out of the way can breed instead. Good job on that hunter's part for taking that poor pathetic beast out of the herd!

I'm going to be good guy and take momma out to supper. I looked it up and they use the B & C scoring method. .

The 2nd picture makes the rack look more realistic than the 1st pic posted...... I think the hunter holding it out in front of him makes it look a tad bigger.... Don't get me wrong, that rack is awesome!

Last year, a group from OLN was up filming a hunt right across the river from where I hunt. Anyways, after the host shoots a real nice one, they give the cameraman a shot to hunt. He shoots a real nice 150 class 8 point but hits it a little back. They trailed that as far as they could but to no avail, lost it. Next day, neighbor guy goes boasting about the nice 150 class 8 point he shot. Now, while I do believe that it is rare to have 2 nice 150 class 8 points on the property (saw 2 B&C there during gun season last year), I have to agree with Woody. 150 class 8 pointers are pretty rare.
I would probably put that deer at 135-140 net. One heckuva deer there for sure.
