For the past few years I have only hunted out of my Summitt climber stand. I feel much safer being attached to the tree while going up and down.
One thing I don't like about the climber is that when hunting land shared with others I am unable to mark my spots. So what I do is take my old hang on tree stands and put them near the spots I am hunting with my climber to mark my spot.
Just wondering if anyone else does this?

Good idea until someone steals them, or starts hunting out of them.

That is a pretty good idea.

If they get stolen they get stolen. I won't use them again.
I leave no steps going up to them. I really think the areas I put them up in no one else is going to hunt out of them. I have only done this on two properites that have very controlled hunting on them.

I use my GPS to mark my good spots.

Hang some orange or yellow yardage markers, that's kinda the universal "Someone's hunting here" signpost. I don't think I'd ever hang a stand, just cause so many freakin' thieves are out there!
