From Jack.....There will be a hearing this week (Feb 3) on the creation of the youth deer season. Should be a no-brainer but who knows anymore.
The Department of Natural Resources will hold a public hearing on a proposed new administrative rule to provide a special youth deer hunting season the weekend prior to the start of the early archery season for deer. The public hearing for this one proposed new rule is scheduled for Thursday, February 3, 2006 at 3 pm in the Indiana Government Center South located at 402 W. Washington Street in Indianapolis in Conference Center Room 14.
The actual rule language that was given preliminary adoption by the Natural Resources Commission is attached. The proposed rule language regarding license requirements for the youth hunter and the accompanying adult may be modified as a result of possible new legislation.

After approval by the attorney general and governor, the new rule would be effective this fall.
