I got this from the hoosierhunting.com forum.
This is a very important issue and I hope any of that can will make the effort to attened this meeting! I have cleared my calender to be there.
Folks you may want to go support our IDNR against the tree huggers. Without forrest and land management most of our wildlife species do not fare well.
Here is the email:
Subject: IDNR Strategic Plan Debate October 25th - Bloomington
For your information, Kyle Hupfer DNR Director and I have agreed to
participate in a question and answer session on the DNR's strategic
plan,
October 25th in Bloomington. The forum will be held at City Hall, also
know
as the City Building from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. I believe the building is
located on Morton Street. The forum will be telecast on the local
Bloomington cable network.
Some might question why we would be subjecting ourselves to what will
most
likely he a contentious evening, but we felt it is important to take our
message to the folks who have been attacking forest management on public
lands forever! I'm sure those who oppose the management of the state
forests will try to rally the forces to overwhelm us. Our goal will be
to
conduct a civil debate where we will take questions from the audience on
the
various aspects of the plan. I hope that the discussion will center
more
than on harvesting on the state forest, but that will ultimately depend
on
who is asking the questions.
This is where people who understand the value in managing the forest can
come and provide support as well as ask questions that will enlighten
others
to the vitures of forest management. If you know of other interested
people
in your organization or the general public who might want to attend,
please
let them know of this event.
Thanks in advance.
