I don't believe not one person has caught on to what the idiot woman said !!
Dottie Arnold said " she and her neighbors on the north side of the upper St. Joseph River have had problems with lead birdshot raining down from duck hunters on the south side of the river"
My guess is...
#1 if it's lead it's not from that blind .....
#2 she is being coached from some nim-wit from PETA or HSUS
#3 with all the publicity from Geist the snowball has now started rolling !!!

Or she just assumed it to be lead, not many outside of hunters would know there is a lead ban on waterfowl hunting. Shot is shot, lead or steel it makes no difference, if your shot is raining down on someone elses buildings be prepaired to get corrected. I know I would be pizzed if somebody was raining shot on my house or deck. There is something called common since.
That said, there are always 2 sides to the story and people with an agenda will push the limits to get hunting banned. Lets not give them any good reasons for it!

Actualy, the correct way for her to have handled the situation would have been to call the ICO.
And there would have probably been a little more than "correcting" going on when the ICO got there. Criminal recklessness is a bit more serious than a citation.
NONE of those neighbors said one thing BAD about hunting nor did they say they were against it....they just said they didn't apprreciate the shot raining down on them.
Common since, courtesy and consideration should ALWAYS be taken by the hunter!

It's cool , the rest of my neighbors are old school country folk . I'm respectful enough not to shoot during church hours , and never do it before 9:00 am , so the bunny huggers don't have any support . Their sons sounded interested when I mentioned shooting guns , I see some potential for corr ... uh ..."mentoring" there ... ;D Kevin1, Another thing that angers me is these "City Folks" move out to the country side, and every 4th of July, they set of illegal fireworks around the area. Also their kids driving up and down the roads with their "Boom Boxes" playing that low pitch loud noise. They also litter the roadways with paper bags, coke cans and yes Beer cans.

So those old country folk who never had trash service don't litter??? I will agree with the fireworks and loud music, but I've seen too many country and city folk dump all their trash over a hill that you can't see over, or next to the river, or over a bridge, next to a quiet county road. I am not talking about recent dumps but generations of it. DRS, if I was you I'd sell your prime real estate and find a new place. You could get a lot of ground(in the right location) for that kind of money.

Nope! Not quite ready to move just yet. I can still Hunt & Target Shoot on my property without any grief from neighbors. But if something did come up to where I could no longer hunt or shoot on my property, and the property taxes go up....Then I am moving OUT OF VANDERBURGH COUNTY! I really don't think my neighbors want my family and I to sell out. My property is heavily wooded with an acre lake, and I am sure they wouldn't want to see it developed into more housing sites.

Sounds like a little piece of heaven to me, don't blame you for not selling. My Family has been living here since 1971 when my Dad move to Evansville to pratice Medicine with a group of OB-GYN Doctors. We were thinking about moving to Oregon, where he had some Doctor Friends in the same field of medicine. My self have live here since 1974 when I got out of College. My Dad passed away in August of 1984, and My Brother, Me, and My Mom still live here. For an area in Vanderburgh Co. there ARE lots of Deer and Squirrels but few Rabbits. I saw a nice 8-pointer chasing a large Doe yesterday morning. I've taken 9 very nice Deer on my 15 acres thus far. Three Doe & 6 Bucks.
