OK I know on the property I hunt that thre are sevral bucks some young and some old.... here is the question I have ... why if I am seeing plenty of scrapes have I only found one rub? Last year by this time the area was tore up all over with rubs and we had several young trees rubbed until they broke. Am I the only one not seeing any real rubbing activity?

I've only found one rub in the woodlot I hunt......the tree was broke in half, probably last night since the leaves hadn't even began to wither. I usually see more rubs too by now.
The racks on the deer I saw this morning still almost looked bloody......very redish/orange in color. Maybe they are late ditching the velvet??? All 3 bucks were like that today.

I have several rubs on my Owen County Property, like 50+ nothing on HUGE trees but a lot of them. I also have picture from 8/31/06 on trail cams showing hard antlered deer! It is weird how it varies from area to area.

Woodmaster told me last night that while he was walking in to his stand that he saw a rub on a tree about 100 yards from his stand. He said it was on a tree that was as big around as his thigh. Rubbed pretty good too..

Ive seen rubs for over a month and scrapes the last two weeks. The scrapes are nothing more than practice scrapes. The real business is still three weeks away. h.h.

Rubs start appearing as soon as the velvet is shed but they often appear in different locations from year to year depending on food sources and where bucks are traveling too. Normally in my area the bucks go on a rubbing spree about this time of the season and I start finding more rubs and in different places.

Something on your hunting property may have changed, causing the rubs to be in other areas than in the past.

Something on your hunting property may have changed, causing the rubs to be in other areas than in the past. The only change that i can think of is the fact that it is in corn around it now. But even so I would still think there would ahve been rubs on the hill tops near the corn and in the small thicket by the creek. I dunno why i am worried about it ... I ahve seen bucks and I know they are there so I really don't need the rubs.... lol was just wondering if anyone else was not finding them.

Is the corn still standing? Look where the field meets the woods.

I haven't seen no rubs, scrapes or bucks yet, just a group of 8-9 does.I think the neighbor has all his beans and corn cut now so I'm going to give it a shot this evening.I'm starting to think the hunters on the other side of the fence shot all the little bucks last year and the logging out over the summer didn't help much either.
