I have never tried a summit. All of ours are Gorillas and it would take alot of convincing for me to try something else.

All it takes is to use one, one time.
The new ones address the only negative I've ever heard about them.
They put a curve in the tube the cable slides in so it doesn't rattle when they are carried.
Even before, on my old one I just make sure the cables are all the way in to pack it and it's not a real problem.

No complaints with my API Grand Slam, which I've been using for several years.
However, I will be scoring one of those Summit Bullet Backpackers before fall. They are a bit lighter, and I like the way they fold flat.

Definitely great stands. We use the Vipers, and have a friend who is a bigger guy who uses the Goliath and loves it! They are very light and easy to use. I also have half a dozen gorilla lock ons, they are fine stands for the money, but the new Summit lock ons are awesome, all you do is hang the cleat to the tree (rachet strap) which is 1000% easier than wrestling an entire stand hanging it to the tree and adjusting it. With the Summit, you can install as many cleats on whatever trees you want to hunt so buy a cheap cleat vs. an entire stand. Then carry the stand with you when hunting, climb the tree, hang the stand on the cleat (very easy to do), put in the shear pin, and put another ratchet strap around the stand and tree to stabilze the stand, and you're ready to hunt. So you can buy 1 stand and hunt multiply locations. I think the stand only weighs like 7 lbs., compared to my Gorilla which way about 15 or 16 lbs. apiece. It's a great system, and I'm going to convert over entirely to it this upcoming year. Plus the seat is extremely comfortable compared to others.

I have a Lone Wolf and I like it better than any summit I ever tried. Lighter, folds flat for easy carry, very quiet, solid, sturdy.
