Plan was to hunt till 9:30 Saturday morning in order to make it home in time to leave for my Brothers house for his Daughters b-day party. Around 8:40 I shoot a doe at around 10 yards. Pefect quartering away angle and the arrow zipped right through her. Called my wife and told her she was probably going to have to take the kids without me. She wasn't real happy. Got down around a half hour later to look for my arrow and couldn't find a thing. I looked and looked and never found it. So, about an hour after the shot I start looking for blood the way she ran and found very little. Eventually there was none and after about 3 hours I left and had all but given up.
Got home and laid down on the couch for about a half hour. All of sudden I start thinking I should go back and look some more. Looked for the arrow again but still couldn't find it. I start just walking around in the woods in the direction she ran. About a half hour later I come across one spot of blood and was amazed. I start walking down the trail and there she was. Wierd thing was I made a good shot on her and she only went about 80-100 yards but did not give a blood trail. I feel very fortunate to have been able to find her.

CONGRATULATIONS on the doe.
Persistence is the key in finding these rascals.
Glad that you went back out.
Please post this in the "Contest" thread for scoring for your team.

Hey man good work!!! I havn't been out very much only like 4 times bc farming season is taking off. But the hunting doesn't rele get good until the crops are off and it turns cooler anyways. I hear its supposed to rain and get cold this weekend so maybe i will be able to do some SERIOUS hunting this weekend and help my team out. Heard from any of our teamates? Later man!!!
