64% Dixie here. People always ask me if I am from the south, I guess it is the way I talk. They are surprised when I tell them I was born and raised in Indiana.

36% (Yankee). A definitive Yankee (Since I grew up in New England.
Oh I remember question 18 so well. Cabbage Night! Western Mass. had a lot of polish farmers and with that was many farms that grew just cabbage. That's why we had the supply of that arsenal.

72% dixie. Born and raised here. When I was in the Navy, most would guess I was from Georgia or Alabama. After living(stationed) in Tenn and Va, my accent became even more pronounced

Everyone asks my nationality and I answer American. They ask where I was born and I say Beech Grove, Indiana. They ask where I grew up and I say Tenn. Jack

AQ school for me (aviation fire control technician). Those barracks we had were built in the 40's as temporary housing. Left Millington in late 1966. Va Beach wasn't bad as a TDY. Sure beat the heck out of Cherry Point or anything in the Carolina's.

63% Dixie, had a guy in one of our Electronics classes in the Corps whose hobby was American Dialects. Just by listening in on a BS session, he could tell what state you were from. Looked at me and said Indiana, keep talking and I'll tell you what part. Yeah right! Just south of Indianapolis says he, I never questioned him again.
