I was at Rural King last night and they are having a big treestand sale. I picked up three hang ons for $25 a piece and they had all kinds of ladder stands on sale. This was at the store in Columbus.

I went last week and the sale wasn't THAT great. Looks like they've dumped them a bit more!

There are also on sell here in Evansville, but by not much. Looked at one of their Ladder Stands the other day, but it was too much weight, for a "lone" Hunter to put up one, by myself.

Easy way to put up a tree stand alone. Place tree stand on garden cart and attach to your quad, also take along your climber. At your desired hunting tree, take climber and climb to point above ladder, place a climbing step into tree, leaving it out from tree 1/2 inch or less upside down, You did remember to bring up a pull rope didn't you, put rope into space created between tree and side of step, drop rope down tree, 1/2 on each side of step. Put stand together on ground, attach one end of rope to seat back on stand, attach other end to quad, pull stand up tree with quad, adjust stand out as you wish. Use ratcheting straps to keep stand solid, climb up stand attach and tighten ratcheting straps. Untie rope from stand, drop rope to ground, either remove step or leave it as an equipment holder.

I don't have a "cart" or "Quad" to use.

drs-Sorry that you have neither a garden cart or quad. If you have a two wheeled game cart you can use it to ferry your stand back to the desired location. I have done that many a time. One of those 4 wheeled lawn wagons that pull like a little kids red wagon work well too. Just got to watch out how you pack your stuff on them to keep them from being overly top heavy. The climber and the step/rope system will still work well for a single 15-16 ladder. Just lay it face down so that the steps are facing the tree (this makes it slide up the tree easier). It is easier for two but one can do it.

Just bought a 15' ladder stand at Dicks today for $50, regular $100. Went in to see if they had any more sticks or lock-ons (they didn't) and had to settle for the ladder stand.

Right now I only have my property inwhich to hunt Deer on, and I have a light 12' tall ladder stand that is light enought for me to handle. No one else, in my family hunt nor do any of my Friends. I am a Lone Hunter. Before my "Hunting" Friend, in Ky gave me the "shaft" by not allowing me to hunt with them anymore (Due to the fact that I was advised by my Attorney, not to have him handle my investment money, because of the risks & the fact he was not licensed in Indiana) I am not welcome down there. When I did hunt with them, for 15 years, we had 4-wheelers and the proper equipment to put-up those stands. and a way to haul Deer out of the woods. Moral, to the story, is to NOT mix Friendship with Business. This is why I am currently hunting, by myself, on 5-acres of ground behind my home & using a light 12' ladder stand.

Drs. They work, have used them for many years, long Befor I ever got a quad. Although quad with trailer is easiest. Heaviest stand that I have mounted this way is a 15' ladder and a half. One man can mount a 15 foot round leg ladder with a larger platform and seat alone this way. Maybe an inexpensive block and tackle attached to a tree and then the haul rope would aid in the raising of a stand. Just thought of that block and tackle thing may give it a try just to see how well it works next year. Oh and for the record I am not a huge muscled young macho type, 5' 7.5" Maybe 175 (stripped), and am 62.8 years old.
