I wonder how many people we have here that just read but do not post? I often see a thread that's been viewed a zillion times but replied to twice. Not complaining...... just curious. Anybody know?

I view more than I post on, but I don't think I "lurk"...

Quite a few judging from the amount of guests that are viewing the site at any given time.

Guests are the seeds, members are the crop, but not all seeds sprout.

I would say that many read a thread because it sounds interesting or maybe they are just curious and after reading either all or part decide that they do not have anything to say. Or maybe just being quiet is the smarter thing to do. Sometimes opinions are best kept to themselves.

All of us being from various and different backgrounds all have something to bring to the party.
What one doesn't know another will.
I would like to see every member comment on every thread that they are interested in.
Even if it is just a "Me too".

I've wondered the same thing in the past. Although I never considered myself a lurker, I do read more than I post. Especially looking at the number of post some members have compared to my own.
I guess there are several reasons why. For myself, work and hunting keeps me busy and I just don't have enough time. Other times I feel other memberss are more knowledgeable on the topic than myself. Sometimes I worry that my post may come out sounding different than what I intended.

I too read a lot more than I post. Heavens, if I posted on every one I read I'd have more posts than Woody! Nothing wrong with reading... I just kind of wondered how many read only.

It is a requirement that the administrator post at least one post on every thread. Right now I am about 2,000 posts behind. I'll do my best to catch up.

Just for you woody....... "Me too"
I do not comment very often because in most cases I have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation.... or in the case of a heated thread debate I do not wish to feed the fire of disagreement among our fine members.... so for the most part I keep my opinion to myself and leave the posting to those with higher IQ's.

I am more of a reader too but that is because I have such poor writing skills.
