I have a Stack-On 8 gun safe, Had it for several years and haven't had any problems till a couple days ago. Well, I hadn't been in this safe in several months, till I tried to open it a couple days ago and to my surprise it WILL NOT OPEN. The top latch will open and moves freely, but the bottom will not move, I put some spray on gun oil in it and still nothing. Could the lock be bad? So other that cutting it apart what other ways do I have to get in? Has anyone else had this problem?

Best penetrating product I've ever found for unsticking things is P B Blaster. It's available at various auto parts stores and I think I even saw it a Wal-Mart, but couldn't swear to that. I know Auto-Zone had it last time I needed a can.
Penetrates better than WD 40 or any of the old penetrating oils, by a wide margin.
It doesn't work all that well as a long-term lubricant, but gets stuff unstuck better than anything else. I'd squirt the lock and any place that may let some of it get to the bar that slides into the door frame, and tap the assembly lightly to help further with the penetration. Give it half an hour and repeat.
If that doesn't free things up, I think you can safely feel that you've done the best you could with any product you could spray on. Time for help from Stack-On, or the smoke wrench.

Russ is right, PB blaster is the best penetrating oil on the market. I use it on a daily basis on 60 year old equipment in a power plant, and it is by far the best.

Well guys after a few days of PB Blaster I'm in. I dont know what happened, I keep putting PB in the lock and I had my son take his foot and push the door in to maybe take some pressure off the lock and it opened free as can be. Thanks for the info, Iwas getting a little worried.
