not to go outside.we are getting hammered with snow and high winds in kosciusko county this morning.looks like a good 5-6 inchs of snow and there calling for 5-6 more thru out the day.but what is it that makes a man think when it gets light out ,ill get the blazer running and take a spin to see how bad it really is?is it a macho thing or just a bit of stupidity or a combination of both? ;D

I did the same thing yesterday after we got a little bit of snow/sleet/ice. I just went for a spin and the roads were pretty bad, but still a lot of fun all the same.

When my brother was still living in Indiana, we'd go to a large empty parking lot and he'd do a few donuts in his Cadillac DeVille when it snowed like this (which made me slightly nervous).

Fun my butt!! Been in on campus since 3 AM trying to move this stuff. These "ice polishers" that we use on the walks are fine for a couple of inches but when you get a foot of heavy wet stuff with ice underneath it can be a bear to move around. We've got eight mid-size tractors with these rotary brooms and I think every one has been in the shop at least once since we started-sheared keys, twisted shafts and busted U-joints....just too much stress for the equipment. PLUS it's still blowing around pretty good-I've cleared walks and less than an hour later they are blown closed again. Oh yeah-we also have over 2700 people graduating today so this stuff has be kept cleared for the ceremonies.

Well I just got in from clearing the drive and such. Here in Northern Kosciusko county I would say we have 13 inches or so. Thankfully my neighbor just got a new snow blower for his lawn tractor. It works great. I helped him with his sidewalks, mailbox and such and he did my driveway for me. Helped out a bunch.
Now it's time to hunker down and see if the wind fills everything back in again.

Been in on campus since 3 AM trying to move this stuff. Was wondering when you went in. Would have called, but didn't want to interrupt the polishing. Talked to Dennis today, he said you got ~12"? We only had 5-6 down here...

Somewhere, there are some pictures of myself and friends sledding on Slater Hill (Purdue) around 6-7 years ago using the hood off of my old Scout. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I think I still hurt from that night!!! The injuries sustained that night are the reason my wife *still* refuses to go sledding. ;D

No, no; you're supposed to steal trays out of the dorm dining halls. They're much easier to haul back up the hill.

Nothing better than deep snow, a 4X4, bull rope, & a car hood. Hee Haw!!!!!!!!!!! You wouldn't belive the stuff this creative redneck has drug behind 4X4's. I remeber watching my best friend have a blow out on a innertube at about 50 mph in a picked bean field. One minute he was there.......the next second it was a giant cloud of white with brief spots of camo flashes!

OPS, I read about the car hood and lost my thought I was gonna put down here. The infection in my grill ;D is to the point where the pain of the cold is so bad I can't be outside for any length of time at all! I don't know what's hurting worse the mouth or not getting to hunt? I'm eating antibiotics and i-be-pro-fun like crazy but the healing ain't gettin here fast enuff! I need a well heated tree stand.
